It's the return of the 'truest format' of the game as Virat Kohli-led Team India take on Mahmudullah's Bangladesh in the first match of the two-Test series in Indore. The hosts secured the T20I series against the Bangla Tigers 2-1, with stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma leading the side. Primary captain Kohli will return to the fore in the Tests and so will a number of senior members of the team including Mohammed Shami, Cheteshwar Puajra, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Wridhiman Saha, and Ishant Sharma.
The Indian team has had a dream start to the ICC World Test Championship that has seen them sit atop of the standings after 5 games. Kohli would look to further solidify the team's position at the top. Bangladesh, meanwhile, would look to put some points on the board as they open their account the Test Championship against the top-ranked Indian side.
Rohit Sharma will look to continue his exquisite form as a Test opener that saw him emerge as one of India's best players in the 3-match series against South Africa. Ravichandran Ashwin, whose international career has been limited to Test cricket only, would look to prove once again why he is India's No.1 spinner in the format.
